Arc'teryx — Close-Up: Hamish McArthur

Arc'teryx Close-Up follows British climber Hamish McArthur at a turning point between competitive pressure and instinctive movement. After becoming the 2021 Youth World Champion in bouldering and lead climbing, Hamish's route to the top was anything but linear. A forced break during COVID removed the noise of competition and brought him back to the reason he started climbing in the first place: movement, curiosity and freedom. The resulting film and editorial series combine intimate portraiture, raw outdoor textures and close observational moments to reveal the athlete behind the results. Created for Arc'teryx, the project translates an honest performance story into a cinematic, social-first narrative rooted in climbing culture.
